I would rate this is as one my favourite movies of all time .....loved it

UDAAN (2010)

After being abandoned for eight years in boarding school, a young teenager returns home.

"Udaan" is a narrative about a young teenager and the complex relationship he shares with his father. The story is well scripted with an amazing screenplay that portraits the association and issues between the main characters. The director has handled the subject very well, capturing situations from everyone's life and infusing the characters with realistic emotions. Situational based sound tracks and lyrics ignite your thoughts, as the film inspires you to take responsibility, follow your passion, break all boundaries and fly towards freedom.

My Latest Movie Review

After struggling with work and other stuff finally took out the time to review Mani Ratnam's new movie - Raavan

Raavan

A bandit leader kidnaps the wife of the policeman who killed his sister, but later falls in love with her.

This film attempts to recreate the Indian mythology of "Ramayana" into a modern tale. The cinematography is amazing, magnificently shot in the remote jungles of India and accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack. However, even though the music may be a treat to your ears, the film lacks soul in terms of story, and the screenplay lacks substance or the presence of an exciting climax. Although "Raavan" might lose direction in its distinction between the main character's identity as brutal demon or outlaw helping the poor, it's still worth a watch if not simply for the stellar cast.

Indian Film Festival 2010 - Bollywood and Beyond

I was pretty excited to know that the 'Indian Film Festival' is coming this year. It is not only showcasing bollywood movies but a few award winning regional movies as well. I' m looking forward to watch "Harishchandra Factory" a famous regional movie.

I think the idea of film festival is a good way to watch films that I missed specially the one's I enjoy watching on the big screen. It is a nice way to meet and greet a few celebrities.

I have short listed my favourite Top 10 bollywood films at this festival

My first pick is 'Dev D', a fantastic movie which is modern take of a classical novel. Love the songs, locations and the performances

Second pick would be '3 Idiots' , reminds my uni life back in India. A great comedy with few subtle messages and my personal favourite "...chase Excellence and Success will follow"

Third would be 'Wake Up sid', a fresh new age romantic comedy.

Fourth, is 'Love Aaj Kal' (Love these Days), a well made light hearted romantic flick comparing romance between old fashioned VS the new Gen Y

My fifth best film is 'Paa', a family entertainer with amazing performances especially the superstar star "Amitabh Bachchan"

My Sixth pick is 'Black', inspired by an autobiography. A well made film with great performances by Rani Mukerji and Amitabh Bachchan

Kaminey (Scoundrels) my top seventh movie. Striking performances, great cinematography, impressive editing and electrifying music

Saathiya (Partner), an unusual love story with beautiful sound tracks

Ninth will be 'Ghajini', an action thriller inspired from the hollywood movie Memento.

The tenth one is Dostana (Friendship), one of funniest movies in the recent times. Sure to have a great laugh

I would recommend most of you to watch these and Im sure you wouldn't regret it

My Name is Khan Review

My latest movie review a decent film but a bit long.....

Rizwan Khan, a muslim boy from Mumbai suffers from Asperger syndrome, a form of high-functioning autism that complicates socialisation.

"My Name is Khan" is both a love story and a quest with an angle of religion and world- trembling repercussions. The film is captivating, well-acted and amusing in some parts. It preaches important messages about tolerance, hope, persistence, forgiveness and the power of love. Strong performances from the lead cast and strong cinematography and score make this a well made movie that not only entertains, but mesmerises
